Virginia Title Insurance Education Requirements

Whether you are preparing for your first license or maintaining your current license, start by understanding the education requirements that apply to you.

Pre-Licensing Requirements

Required Education: 16 approved hours for resident title applicants.

State Examination: Yes. You must pass within 1 year after completing the course.

Choose education that meets the requirements for your license and review the course approval details before enrolling. Completing a course does not replace your other licensing obligations.

Continuing Education Requirements

Required Hours: 16 approved hours every 2 years for title-only producers.

Required Subjects and Other Details: Include 3 ethics hours. Holding multiple license types can increase your total to 24 hours.
